Ellis Mason are recruiting for a GENERAL SALES MANAGER to join a leading truck manufacturer in Hertfordshire.

The purpose of the role is to devise, implement and co-ordinate the company fleet, municipal and retail sales strategies, highly effectively managing the individual sales departments and dealer network.

To be eligible for this role, we’re looking to speak with GENERAL SALES MANAGER'S with previous experience managing a successful sales team within the commercial vehicle market, a high degree of commercial acumen and good financial knowledge. Experience within both fleet and retail markets is preferred.

THE SALARY

  • Base salary circa £60,000
  • 20% bonus
  • 12% pension contributions
  • Monday to Friday role

THE JOB

  • Ensure annual and monthly sales objectives and targets are met, in line with the Company business plan.
  • Motivate the sales teams to meet monthly targets and objectives whilst working within appropriate pricing parameters.
  • Provide monthly updates on sales progress and review objectives and targets.
  • Accurately forecast vehicle stock requirements and subsequently place a monthly order with the manufacturer.
  • Build positive relationships with customers and the dealer network to motivate and develop increased fleet and retail sales.
  • Working together with the M.D., liaise closely to communicate sales activity and market intelligence.
  • Utilise marketing data on customer trends and communicate such information to the sales teams and dealer network to drive sales plans.
  • Collate competitor information and communicate monthly.
  • Work closely with vendor finance partner to devise finance-based sales strategies and effectively control the dealer stock plan.
  • Contribute fully to the success of the senior management team, working closely & harmoniously with the other departments.
