Ellis Mason are recruiting for a LEAD PHP DEVELOPER to join a fast growing technology company based in North Hertfordshire.

This is a fast paced role where you will be instrumental in developing innovating solutions to meet customer requirements, designing, coding, testing and bug fix development and staying ahead of the latest programming techniques.

To be eligible for this role, please only apply if you have at least three year’s experience in a lead role, using PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript and are self-motivated and committed towards on-going personal development.

Whilst remote working is possible, we are only seeking candidates who live within a commutable distance to North Hertfordshire.

THE SALARY AND BENEFITS

Permanent, full time role
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
Salary range £45,000 to £60,000 DOE
24 days holiday plus bank holidays

THE ROLE

Develop, record and maintain cutting edge web-based PHP applications on portal plus premium service platforms
Ensure HTML, CSS, and shared JavaScript is valid and consistent across applications
Prepare and maintain all applications utilising standard development tools
Utilise backend data services and contribute to increase existing data services API
Lead the entire web application development life cycle right from concept stage to delivery and post launch support
Refactor, optimise and improve the existing codebase for maintenance and scale
Use test driven development and acceptance tests to ensure feature quality
Interface with customer and internal teams to gather requirements and develop software solutions
Convey effectively with all task progress, evaluations, suggestions, schedules along with technical and process issues
Document the development process, architecture, and standard components
Coordinate with co-developers and keep project managers well informed of the status of development effort and serves as liaison between development staff and project manager
Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in web development
