Ellis Mason have partnered exclusively with a well established business based in Hertfordshire to help them find a PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY UNDERWRITER

We are happy to talk to people from a Casualty background, even if you are not yet an underwriter (Assistant Underwriter). Also happy to speak to people from within Construction. 

The PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY UNDERWRITER can be based from home if they like, as long as they can attend a meeting once a month in North Hertfordshire. The company will consider anyone within a 2 hour commute of North Herts. If more local, there is an office that you are welcome to work from also, whenever you would like. 

To be considered for the role of the PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY UNDERWRITER you must have at least 5 years experience within the one of the sectors mentioned above and must live within 2 hours commute of North Hertfordshire and be looking to work from home but be willing to travel to North Herts for a monthly meeting. 

A CII Qualification would be desirable, however is not essential. 


THE SALARY & BENEFITS

  • Circa £50,000 salary - dependent on experience
  • Home working
  • Flexible working hours
  • Monday to Friday office hours (9am-5pm are their standard operating hours however they are very open to flexible working hours).
  • Death in service benefit - 4 x salary 
  • 20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays

THE JOB

The main duties included within the role of the PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY UNDERWRITER, are: 

  • Underwrite both new and renewal Professional Indemnity risks within guidelines and authority
  • Develop and maintain broker relationships
  • Adhere to company objectives whilst underwriting a profitable book
  • Prepare accurate underwriting documentation/information in account management systems and adhere to documentation standards
  • Actively participate in regular underwriting meetings
  • Work effectively as a productive and supportive team member in conjunction with more senior team members
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service standards at all times
